The title of the image within the Library of Congress informs us that that the man is a marine lieutenant and the plane he is standing beside is a power plane used to tow training gliders at Page Field, Parris, Island, S.C.

The clear blue sky and the vibrant color of the yellow makes this image seem to portray an upbeat situation. The pilot and his plane, along with the atmosphere in the image makes it seem like they are going to embark on positive journey. The image makes me think of freedom and the vastness of the world, and all that could be discovered in it. It also reminds me of peace and tranquility, considering that everything in the image seems calm and at rest.
