This black and white picture is an old advertisement for a fashionable department store called Franklin Simon & Co. It was located at Fifth Avenue, 37th and 38th St, New York. There are two separate illustrations. In the first, two geisha-styled women are wearing frilly, lacy corsets. The one on the left also has a gown draped over her shoulders and is holding a mirror in one hand and a fan in the other. The second woman appears to be trying to look at herself in the mirror. Her corset is not as fancy as the other woman’s. In the lower left hand corner is a drawing of what looks like the back of one of the corsets. The second illustration is advertising “Entirely New Interpretations of Women’s Capes.” There are four women wearing various styled capes, though the women all look the same and may be the same model. They are all wearing hats and all the hats except one have feathers in them. The capes are all dark and, while rich-looking, come off as rather depressing. One interesting observation I made is that no prices are mentioned and no phone number is listed. You don’t see ads like this today!

The subject of the image is to show the shop where you will get the variety of things under one roof. the name of the company is franklin simmon and company. the tagline of the company describe itself “a store of indivisual shop”. where u will get the hat for both women and men. the image consists of lady which wears hat and the color of image is black and white.some places the image is not clearly visible. the tone of the image is good and texture is a bit high. there are some dark spot in some places. its a beautiful image having combine of beauty with glamour. the reaction of the image will be wonderful. any one who will see this image will be impress by this because it is quite attractive to watch. i can see both in this image.the image shows the good view of hat products. every one will like this. i have a very intersting story to tell you very simillar with this image. there was a shop where i went shopping for hat. that shop was not only seels the image but also the whole range of ledies and gents products where you will get the wild range of man and women accessories. i met one of movie actress there who comes to that place for shopping. i will never forget that.
