This picture describes about the Creator of the whole world Jesus Christ. It is a portrait of the hanging of the Lord Jesus at the Library of Congress. Two figures standing on either side of the cross of Him. An angel from Heaven is filling the sacred blood of Jesus in a golden grail. Actually it must be a stamp. I can remember the precious blood he shed for us.

The subject matter of the image is that of one of the most revered spiritual leaders of the world; the originator of one of the most widely practiced faith and religion being Christianity, none other than, ‘Jesus Christ’. The image portrays the crucification stage of his life where he was mounted and crucified to the cross. The picture shows two angels on either side, hands poised in due reverence with halo behind their heads. There is also a third angel who is floating in the clouds and collecting the blood oozing out from the chest region of his body.
Jesus Christ has been shown as hanging drained of life, energy and all vitality. The colors used are a combination of blue and green squares as a matt finish with the cross portrayed in the color of blue. The dominant color is that of dark blue with the angels also dressed in flowing blue robes with yellow shawls. The halo has been shown in flaming orange.

The reaction to a picture so poignant cannot be a lighthearted or a fun filled one. The picture of Jesus Christ in the crucification stage brings out a mixture of emotional reactions. Sadness, pain and complete admiration for a human being who had the highest level of compassion filled in him so as to let himself be subject to such hardened brutal form of torture for the sake of mankind and have the large heartedness to even seek forgiveness for the perpetuators of this ghastly crime from the lord above.

Religious iconic artwork, featuring Christ on the cross with two women mourning. It appears to be done in a mosaic type styling, in bright colors, which is refreshing from the dark tones usually used in this type of art. Christ’s blood seems to be flowing into a chalice or holy grail, which is being collected by a heavenly being, which shows how cherished it is. The artwork is almost cartoon in nature, not realistic at all, yet still able to evoke emotion that this was a very real and heart wrenching event in history. The mourners have halos, which could indicate angels crying at the death of Christ. The colors and details of this piece remind me of Italian art- vivid details and bright blues, golds, and oranges. The detailing at each corner helps this piece to be almost self-framed. The cross is not the feature point in this piece, it appears to be quite slim and narrow compared to the wooden cross usually depicted. The background detailing like mosaic tile really help the images to stand out and be significant and bold. Christ is almost bent in an upside down “L” shape which indicates that the crucifixion is over, and as He said just before He died, “It is finished.”
