This image captures the birth of modern aviation with the first successful flight of Kitty Hawk, a creation of the Wright Brothers. This aircraft was airborne for 12 seconds during its first flight and traveled forty yards. The length of the successive flights extended to nearly a minute. Orville Wright was the pilot during these trial flights.
This image was taken by an unknown photographer in 1903. Due the the date of origination, along with its likely publication, we believe it resides in the public domain. Please contact Ars Publik if you believe this designation to be in error.

This image is unique I am speechless I am seeing the picture of first successful flight. Its just marvelous It is very big in size.Well, I do not have much idea about aircrafts but I have always appreciated the technique behind it.I also feel like flying.I can see the person who is so excited and running with the aircraft.I have learned about Wright Brothers and their inventions .This aircraft traveled some forty yards distance due to that success only we are travelling thousands of kilometers. This place seems to be lonely and out of the city. This type of experiments are done in spacious areas only.I can see a wood bench may be they used it for their experiment. On the right side I can see some wires and a bottle. This aircraft looks heavy in weight it contains some twenty rods .Well I don’t know the material of it but it is looking very strong. It does not has the proper shape of the craft which we see now.But what we see today is based on it only.It seems like a big bird which has two thick feathers is fkying in the sky.

Wilbur and Orville Wright’s Flyer was the first modern airplane in the world. On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the brothers flew the first machine in a powered, controlled, and nonstop flight. In the earlier times, the balloons were used in the flying devices. The wind controlled the flight, which had not accurate navigation. The possibility for the danger of death was higher. The Flyer, constructed of wood, wire, and muslin, completed four successful flights that day with the longest covering 859 feet in 59 seconds. Today, we would like to remember up to the fact that Kitty Hawk is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the USA. But the town offers year-round unique and relaxing environment to all. The birth of modern aviation with the first successful flight of Kitty Hawk reminds us a unique victory of the man kind over the inability to fly even after a century. The super carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) is named after Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the site of the Wright brothers’ first powered airplane flight. We salute the photographer. We salute the adventurous mind of the forerunner who paved way to the aircrafts industry. We can never forget each and every step that was taken us to the present top position.
