This illustration appears as though it’s on a postcard. It is of a beautiful woman looking out over a body of water with her binoculars. She has on a flowing and lacy red dress with an Oriental-style yellow hat. She is wearing a red beaded necklace that has a large cross hanging from it. Her dark, black hair is pulled back into a loose ponytail. You get the impression from the picture that it is windy. There are numerous sailboats on the body of water in the background and her dress is billowing out a bit behind her. Even her hair appears to be blowing back from the breeze. I can’t tell what type of water it is she is looking over, but I suspect it is the ocean and she is possibly looking for her sailor beau to come back from a trip to sea. Her cheeks are rosy and her expression is cheerful. She has her elbow resting on a fence post. It almost looks like she is using that fence post to steady herself against the wind. In her left hand she holds what appears to be a purse. If this wasn’t a postcard, it would make a great one, especially as an “I miss you” card for someone away on a trip.
