From the FSA: public domain stock images of two smokestacks at an industrial plant.
This is a public domain photograph from the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information Color Photographs Collection in the Library of Congress.
Finding great stock images in the public domain is priceless, and this is a great example. This stock image by Jack Delano captures an industrial plant in Lowell, Massachusetts. Two large smoke stacks are visible in the foreground with another in the distance. In the right foreground of this stock photo is a very cool period street lamp.
This photo was taken by Jack Delano, who was working as an agent of the United States government. Because this image was taken by an employee of the federal government, it is in the public domain.

SKY TOUCHING SMOKE STAKES:
These smoke stakes was like it nearly touches the sky. But these smoke stakes is in middle of the lives where people live. The smokes which ever toxic or in-toxic, might give problems to the people around it.But, the smoke stakes are so high because the smoke that evolves out goes higher without touching the breathing gas, oxygen. But it is really hard to eliminate all the smoke completely out from our atmosphere because the height of the layer of the gas is much more higher than than the smoke stakes. As it is an industrial area not much of people will be affected as it is not situated in the residential area.
The picture here taken was excellent viewing, as we could view the stakes from the top till the bottom. Even the brick colour is faded more and lot of smoke particles are sediment over the stakes.Even we can see one more smoke stake on the right side of the picture from which we can understand the width of the factory. There are so many vintage cars which was very famous in the years of 1919. The street lamp can be seen which has the beautiful architect. The front side of the factory we can see the complex which was painted in green and I hope that was market place, and the factory was behind the market area.
